It is not unusual that one finds bangalore autorickshaw drivers troublesome...Here are some typical conversations that I've had with the auto drivers....
me: autoooo(I shout loud) ; and the driver stops
driver: Yelli? (Where?)
me: silk board
driver: 50 Rs agatthe (It'll be 50 Rs)
me: Sir ashtu agalla... nimage yaro thappu heLi mosa madbitidare...30 Rs mele agalla (Sir, it'll not be 50 Rs, you've been cheated by someone ; the fare is usually 30)
driver: (he just nods and moves ahead)
yes, there's no use of arguing with these friggin auto drivers, but I find very thrilling to deal with them ...
another one...
me: sir 7th block jayanagar barthira? (Will you take me to 7th block Jayanagar)
driver: illa(No); and he continues to read the local news paper.
me: sir nimma auto yellelli hogatthe? (what are the possible places that you can take me to?) driver: A little irritated, just stares at me
me: you do one thing; why don't you become a bus driver....or may be a pilot... if you are bugged with passengers asking you to take you to the places they want to, by being a pilot, nobody will disturb you.....You will always have one destination.
(in Kannada : sir neevu yake bus oodisbardu? actually bus badlu neevu pilot aagbitre, nimma thante ge yaru baralla....summne gaadi hatti koothkothare...nimmanna kelodu illa yellige hogatthe antha )
driver: he gets more irritated and starts his vehicle and goes in some random direction
Yet another incident, it was sunny day... I wanted to go to banashankari and I had already approached at least 15 auto rickshaws.... and I was totally frustrated. I was already late and I had called my friend to pick me up....but I found this auto driver who I knew would respond negative when I approach him... So I approached him and asked him: "Sir MG Road ge hogthira?" (Will you go to MG road?)
driver: Yes me: Sari hogi(Ok pls go ahead) and I ran away :))
another one for you guys..
me: Sir 9th Block Jayanagar barthira? (will you take me to 9th block Jayanagar)
driver: (with a surprised look in his face) 9th blockaaa? illa (No I can't come to 9th block)
me: Yake sir alli yenadro curfew agidya? (why? is there some kind of curfew in that area or is there some problem there?)
driver: (nods his head and continues to read the news paper)
yes I am crazy :)

Sophisticated eating
I've always imagined women to be sophisticated in their mannerisms. They really are aren't they? :)
A few days back… it was a typical weekday at work, I was in the cafeteria searching for a place to eat my usual boring lunch. I thought I noticed something weird; normally I don't tend to look at other people's plate while eating. How about that for mannerism :) . But I couldn’t help, I double checked… I noticed some lady eating some chicken legs/breasts whatever.. I had no idea. Best part was how she eats it. Holding one end of the piece of meat in her right hand and ripping apart the other end from her teeth(ferociously....kidding). How was that for sophistication? :)
That was the last thing I had imagined of a girl.
I have nothing against people eating meat. But I’ve always imagined girls eating tender meat, boneless meat cut into delicate pieces. Say for example eating small cubes of chicken tikka with a fork and a knife.
Where are these girls of my imagination??
